In the heat of a scorching 90 degree day the CUBS lost a tough battle to the number one team the Nationals. The CUB'S solid defense and strong but limited batting kept the Nationals at bay with a final 14 - 1 score. Two great fly balls caught by Jake and Austin were instrumental in stopping the score run up as seen by other teams. After a day of rain and wonder, a lot of hard work from both team's coaching staff and just a little field dry the Cubs and Mariners battled it out for Game 2 of the playoffs. The Mariners had home field advantage and played a mighty game however the CUBS, fresh off a thrashing by the Marlins, delivered some impressive batting and outstanding defensive plays.
